Am I eligible to benefit from Project ACT trainings?
Families, childcare professionals and education and service agency members are eligible to receive the trainings.
Are the Project ACT trainings free?
Through several different grants from the Maryland State Department of Education, Project ACT trainings are free to licensed childcare providers, Head Start staff and family childcare providers. For a nominal fee, parents and teachers are welcome to attend any of our trainings.
What are some examples of training topics?
The following are just a few of the popular training that Project ACT offers:
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): Learning the Basics
- Asthma and Allergies
- Autism Spectrum Disorders: Learning the Basics
- Healthy Social and Emotional Development in Children Ages 3-5
- Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
- Understanding and Helping Children with Childhood Depression
- Understanding Learning Disabilities
Can I call Project ACT for support if I have a child with a disability or challenging behaviors in my classroom?
Yes. Project ACT staff are trained to assist and support you with providing strategies. Project ACT does require that parents sign release forms if it is pertaining to a specific child.
