Support Services
What is FEN?
What is the Family Empowerment Network (FEN)?
FEN is a staff-coordinated network of families that include a person with a disability. It was created to respond to needs that they identify. All activities are guided by the feedback obtained from families.
What can FEN do for me?
FEN can create an opportunity for your family to connect with other families that include a person with a disability. These opportunities are generally provided through staff coordination of social events and workshops. It is our hope that through these connections, families can build an informal network to support each other.
What type of supports can FEN provide?
- Social events for the entire family
- Social events for parents of children with disabilities
- The opportunity to obtain support from other families throughout Maryland through online interaction or optional inclusion in a Family Directory
- Educational workshops
- Resources
Where are the activities held?
Events and workshops are held monthly in various locations throughout Maryland. For more information on Family Empowerment Events please check out our Events Calendar.
